Buttero vegetable tanned leather comes from the Badalassi Carlo Tannery in Tuscany, Italy. They are well known for their traditional methods of vegetable tanning with tree bark that go back 100's of years.
Famous and unique across the globe, especially in terms of ageing. 100% pure vegetable tanned leather produced on full grain material. Both patina wonderfully over time, ageing gracefully throughout its life. Buttero has a smooth matt surface and a medium to firm temper. Having no coating or finish applied, in the beginning, it scratches quite easily. With abrasion, the oils from your hands, and various environmental factors, the scratches will begin to fade as the leather darkens.
This leather is dyed completely through and has a nice soft flesh side.
For daily care, simply wiping it with a soft, dry 100% cotton cloth is sufficient.
